How Do I Start a Group?
Complete our “Group Leader Application”. Upon receipt of your application, a member of our team will be in touch to answer any questions you may have, and help you get you started!
What is the Age Group for Whatever Girls?
K – 12. When we began, our target audience was middle-high school girls, but we are seeing the benefit of having groups for younger girls.
What Kind of Support Do You Give Group Leaders?
We’re here for you! We are available to answer your questions, give you ideas, and welcome your feedback. We have a private, on-line community for our group leaders, as well as other exclusive leaders resources.
How Much Does It Cost?
Whatever Girls Leader Kits are $65 (includes Priority 2-day shipping and handling-to most addresses) which includes our leader guide, and special surprises for your group. Group Leader criminal and sex offender background checks are required for all leader applicants, are $15.
You may choose to collect nominal dues from your members to help cover the cost of supplies, books, and any special activities.
Do You Have Curriculum?
We do not have a set curriculum that you have to use. We have developed and will continue to develop topical lessons and Scripture based lessons that you may use, along with activities we have developed. We also run Whatever Girls Online Bible Studies (WGOBS) a few times a year you can participate in, and have a wide variety of recommended books, activators, icebreakers, and resources available for you to choose from. What Do You Do At Meetings?
Our meetings are all about community and discipleship, and are designed to be a safe place where girls and moms can share what’s on their hearts, form friendships, pray together, study God’s Word, discuss relevant topics, participate in fun activities, take part in service projects, support and encourage each other, and learn what it means to be a Whatever Girl.
Are Groups Open to the Public, Or Invite Only?
This is up to you. You may already have a core group of friends you want to start out with, and that’s fine with us. That’s how my first group started, and as word got out about our group, we welcomed more moms and daughters. The ultimate goal is that your group will grow to the point that it will split off and another group will form, and so on.
How Often Do Whatever Girls Groups Meet?
You can meet as often as you want. Set a realistic schedule. Once a week meetings may be too frequent, whereas once a month may not be often enough. Once you set a schedule, do your best to stick with it. Consistency is key, but so is flexibility.
How Long Are the Meetings?
As long as you want. We recommend two hours, which gives you plenty of time for introductions, icebreakers, your lesson and/or activity, snack, and sharing prayer requests.
Do Groups Only Meet During the School Year?
That is up to you. Many groups continue to meet during the summer, but not as often, and sometimes rather than studying a book, they do activities, like spa night parties!
Where Do Whatever Girls Groups Meet?
You can meet wherever you want! In your home, you can rotate homes with other moms and daughters, coffee shops, ice cream shops, libraries-whatever works best for you and your group!
Do moms have to be involved?
While our groups are designed to be led by moms and as a community mothers and daughters can be part of together, we know that isn’t always possible. We welcome other women who are committed to imparting God’s truth and the discipleship of young ladies. Grandmothers, stepmoms, aunts, foster moms, youth leaders, etc… are welcome to take part in and lead Whatever Girls groups.
